Multi-Instrumentalist — Ney · Piano · Mezoued · Zokra

Biography

A passionate musician and teacher, Montassar Jebali moves between traditional Tunisian music, oriental sounds, jazz, improvisation and modern electronic fusions. With over 18 years of stage and teaching experience, he defends a living heritage: passed on to children and young people, preserved — and open to innovation.

Instruments

Ney · Piano · Mezoued · Zokra — four voices, one breath: Tunisian popular music in dialogue with the world.

Training & path

A graduate in Arabic music from the Sidi Saber Conservatory (2018), after six years of training specialising in Ney & Piano, Montassar Jebali has been on stage since 2008 — solo and with groups, at festivals and cultural events, through multi-genre collaborations. He also holds a baccalaureate in Economics & Management.

Projects & collaborations

A member of Erkez Hip-Hop (Collectif Debo) since 2017, he multiplies collective adventures: Rboukh with Hatem Lajmi (2022–), Sinouj and Hay with Benjemy, « Boudchart » alongside Moroccan maestro Amine Boudchart (2024–), Hadhra, Nouba & Mahfel with Fadhel Jaziri (2016–2023), and the Halfaouine Populaire project with Nidhal Yahyaoui (2015–2016).

Transmission

Music teacher at a Maison de la Culture (2018) — Arabic music, teaching workshops, artistic direction of groups — and in kindergartens, where he introduces toddlers to solfège, rhythm and artistic awakening. To transmit, for him, is to make things last.
